Nathan Volke fights to protect our community, environment, and waterways

RESULTS / VICTORIES

common values | common sense | community focused
Talk vs. results. Nathan's opponent says she would have supported a ban on developer money in county politics. Nathan wrote one and passed it -- unanimously. (Bill 65-26)
  • Data centers: Nathan paused the data center rush, and every Council member signed on. (Bill 63-26)

  • Ethics: Ethics rules with teeth: a $5,000 fine that applies to the County Executive, the Council, and every county employee. (Bill 66-26, passed 7–0)

  • Conflicts of interest: Third time's the charm: Council conflict-of-interest rules, finally law. (Bill 59-26)

  • Neighborhoods: Fighting to keep triplexes and apartment blocks out of single-family neighborhoods. (opposed Bill 72-24)

  • Taxes: Nathan voted against income tax hikes (Bills 44-19, 47-24), and against overriding the property tax cap (Bills 45-19, 45-26). He voted for property tax credits to help disabled veterans and law enforcement stay in our community (Bills 89-23, 91-23).

  • Litter / Pollution: Regulated unattended collection boxes, prohibited litter on county property and private property, modernized the noise ordinance, and passed the first light pollution law in Anne Arundel County (Bills 72-20, 19-21, 26-21, and 61-21).

  • Health: Nathan led Resolutions declaring suicide a public health crisis and supporting awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. Resolution 2-20 declared suicide a public health crisis in Anne Arundel County.

  • Modernizing Laws for Local Businesses: Nathan led efforts to modernize laws for pawn shops, coffee roasters, and micro-blading salons (Bills 52-20, 104-20, 29-24).

  • Towing: Nathan passed Bill 83-19 to limit the distances vehicles can be towed outside Anne Arundel County.
